Learning your Identity: The Cure for low self-esteem
Low Self-Esteem is one of the biggest contributors to Depression and Anxiety, and one of the main cures for low self-esteem is learning your unique identity! In the past year I have learned from speakers and authors Jamie and Donna Winship that just like we each have our own individual fingerprints (DNA), we each have our own individual God-given identities! Because we were each uniquely created in our mother’s wombs, there is only one of us in the whole world and no one can take our place! Sounds trite, but it’s anything but!
The fun part is discovering who we are in our essence and how we can fearlessly live out of that identity! Can you imagine no longer living in fear of someone taking your place or being better than you? Can you imagine no longer having a need for self-preservation or self-promotion but instead freely being able to encourage others in their personal endeavors? Believe me when I say the Winship’s teaching has changed my life, my clients lives and those of my family and friends
If you are interested in learning more, check out their website: identityexchange.com. They have life changing courses that include videos which walk you through the Identity Exchange process and other great resources!
Jamie’s book, Living Fearless is available!
This is one of the first podcasts that I ever listened to with Jamie and it blew me away! The Up and Comers normally interview their guests for 45 min, but they had Jamie tell his wild stories of working in high conflict situations in the Middle East for 27 years and how he discovered all about Identity for over 2 hours! Check out, Living an Unconflicted Life - Jamie Winship
Jamie and Donna also work with people in all sectors from First Responders to Educators to Business Owners. Check out this podcast with the head coach of the Seattle Seahawks: Amplify Voices: Pete Carroll and Jamie Winship on Importance of Understanding our Identity
And if you want to hear one of the sweetest stories you have ever heard, check out this radio broadcast where Jamie talks of their work with Jr. Highers! (You can get right to the story if you jump to min. 36:) Helping Teens Discover Their Identity
